Artist Bio
Anson Lam is a Los Angeles–based photographer, born and raised in Hawaii, whose passion for photography began at the age of 13 when his father handed him his first film camera. What started as a curiosity quickly grew into a lifelong pursuit of capturing meaningful moments through the lens.
Over the years, Anson has explored many avenues of photography—from professional wedding work to surf and underwater photography—each experience shaping his vision and approach. Today, he focuses on curated, creative collections that are intentional and emotionally resonant.
Film is Anson’s primary medium, chosen for its ability to slow down the process and create work rooted in presence and authenticity. This philosophy inspired his self-published photobook, [in-ten-shuhn], which highlights the power of deliberate photography.
Drawing inspiration from the work of Edward Hopper and cinematography, Anson creates images that tell stories and evoke emotion. His work is also shaped by his passion for art, culture, nature, and automotive heritage—interests he continues to share through his evolving body of work.
